Ceasefire survived October, nuclear deal failed

The ceasefire held through October while the expected nuclear pact and oil sanction relief did not materialise.

The United States and Iran kept their ceasefire in place through the end of October. Negotiations did not produce a final nuclear agreement by the October 31 deadline. The United States also did not reissue oil sanction relief for Iran. Additionally, no senior diplomatic meeting was scheduled before the deadline.

The confirmation came after a review of recent incidents along the Persian Gulf. Both sides said the continuation helped avoid escalation during the U.S. midterm election period.
